What is the Dance Leaders Course?
The course aims to provide and develop the knowledge and understanding of the skills and issues required for working in the community. They will be beneficial for both starting and established practitioners as they also offer the opportunity to brush up on skills, reinvigorate practice, and network with others.
Who is the course for?
For anyone who wishes to develop their dance leadership skills. The course is for dance practitioners including artists, youth/community workers, recent graduates and teachers.
What will I learn?
The Development Level guarantees 20 hours of workshop time including active participation, group activities, discussions, observations and workshops.
Development Level: (April 2008)
Practical classes; dance in challenging environments; planning, managing projects and evaluation; health and wellbeing; working collaboratively; teaching technique.
What will I gain from the courses?
The course certificated.
You will acquire the practical knowledge and skills necessary to work safely and confidently in a range of community settings.
Certificated completion of the course will also provide evidence to potential employers of your professional competence and awareness of relevant issues.
